Sustainable Shipping

Sustainable shipping was always no brainer for us here at Happy Sloth Co. But, doing it in our budget was always going to be an adjustment. It’s easy to ship in a non-sustainable way and often way cheaper. Not only are we individuals that believe in trying to make the world better, we wanted Happy Sloth Co. to be the same way. How could we want to save the sloths, while potentially our business and the way we ship, could affect the sloths very own habitat, the rainforest? We didn’t want to be hypocrites and we didn’t want to be something we’re not.

Recycled Plastic Bags:

Our outer packaging is made from recycled plastic that can be reused or recycled again. This was important to us, since we wanted something that we could use for marketing, but also stay within our values of a company. Using recycled plastic bags, meant that our business would already differ so much to other e-commerce businesses that exist today. Recycled plastic only means that they may not be as durable as virgin plastic, but we haven’t complained about them yet!

Banana Waste Paper:

You’ll find, when you order from us that the only paper we use is banana waster paper. From your packing slip to the thank you letter, we’re super stoked on this (I know, we get excited about paper). Our organic banana papers are made from combining tree free agricultural bio-products coupled with 100% post consumer content. Both the agricultural by-product of the plantations and the post consumer paper create serious solid waste problems worldwide. It is also Process Chlorine Free (PCF) - paper has no bleached, chlorine or chlorine derivatives. The use of banana papers helps conserve our natural resources — contains 10% Banana Fiber 100% post consumer recycled content.

Your apparel won’t be wrapped in additional plastic, we don’t believe it’s really needed. We’ve gotten some comments in the past, but just feel like it’s not necessary and if there is any problem with your apparel, we’d be more than happy to fix it for you!

We believe in being open with our customers, more than anything we want to create a community centered around helping the sloths, the environment and each other. Let us know in the comments about what you think about our sustainable shipping and if we can’t do anything more for you!

Don’t hurry, be happy!
